Fernando Signorini, the legendary fitness coach of Diego Armando Maradona, commented on the death of the Argentine idol in the context of the trial for his death. The statements were made on Radio Splendid AM 990, during the program Así nos va, hosted by Nicolás Marsico.
The trial began with seven members of Maradona's medical team being charged: doctor Leopoldo Luque, doctor Pedro Di Spagna, nurse Mariano Perroni, coordinator Nancy Forlini, psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov, and psychologist Carlos Díaz. Signorini expressed that Argentine justice has advanced slowly, with more than four years passing since the death of the "10" until the start of the trial.
He admitted to feeling nostalgia and difficulty accepting Maradona's absence, mentioning that he often tries to convince himself that he is still present in some way. Signorini also recalled that he disagreed with Maradona coaching football teams in his last years, believing that his emotional state was not suitable for that responsibility.
Additionally, he mentioned proposals he suggested in the past, such as a plan for national talks in schools and universities led by Maradona, as well as the frustrated possibility of admitting him to a rehabilitation center in the United States. He emphasized that he feels Maradona was abandoned and that currently only the medical team that attended him is being pointed out.
Signorini shared his opinion on the upcoming march of retirees, calling on citizens to participate actively and set aside selfishness to protest against the reduction of pensions and the current repression.
