Sabina Frederic, former Minister of Security of the Nation during Alberto Fernández's government, criticized the management of the current head of the portfolio, Patricia Bullrich. Frederic believes that Bullrich has constructed an image of success without solid foundations, labeling her as "deceitful and a smoke seller." She highlighted the lack of investments in security, despite the minister's ability to convince the population otherwise.
Frederic also pointed out Bullrich's ineffectiveness in improving infrastructure and resources for the security forces, which undermines the effectiveness of the ministry. Another controversial aspect she addressed was the anti-mafia law promoted by Bullrich, which Frederic called unconstitutional. In turn, the former minister accused Bullrich of using repression as a political strategy, referring to a recent incident where a group of retired protestors was repressed at PAMI. Frederic believes Bullrich employs security as a narrative axis to strengthen her political image and divert attention from other crises of the government.
Regarding crime rates, Frederic stated that during Bullrich's management, there has been an increase in crime, considering it a failure in the fight against organized crime. According to the former official, crimes have significantly increased in the recent period.
On the anti-mafia law promoted by Bullrich, Frederic considers it lacks a clear definition of organized crime and violates individual rights. In summary, Frederic's criticism of Bullrich's management focuses on the lack of concrete results, the absence of adequate investments in security, and the use of repression as a distracting political tool.
