Argentina Weather Forecast for Q2 2026: More Rain and Heat

Argentina's National Weather Service (SMN) has released its forecast for Q2 2026, predicting a higher likelihood of above-normal rainfall and elevated temperatures, particularly in the central regions of the country.

Argentina Weather Forecast for Q2 2026: More Rain and Heat

According to the official forecast, the highest probabilities of above-normal rainfall are concentrated in: Northwest Argentina (NOA) region, Córdoba province, western Santa Fe, eastern San Luis, and the central-eastern part of Buenos Aires province. In these areas, the forecast indicates a clear trend towards rains exceeding historical averages for this time of year.

Areas with normal or above-normal rainfall

The SMN also forecasts conditions between normal and above normal in: Northern Argentina, the Southern Littoral, southwestern Buenos Aires, La Pampa, and Southern Patagonia. This implies that while the signal is not as marked as in other regions, there is a tendency towards a quarter with a good level of precipitation.

Regions with rainfall within usual levels

Meanwhile, the forecast indicates normal conditions in: Most of Cuyo, Central and northern Patagonia. In these zones, no major deviations from historical values are expected.

Hottest zones

According to the official map, the highest probabilities of above-normal temperatures are concentrated in: the Littoral region, the rest of Santa Fe, Córdoba, and eastern San Luis. In these areas, the SMN points to a marked trend of registering thermal values above the usual for the season.

Heat extended to most of the country

Furthermore, the body forecasts conditions between normal and above normal in a wide portion of the territory: Northern Argentina and NOA, Cuyo region, Buenos Aires province, La Pampa, and Patagonia. This implies that although the signal is more moderate in these regions, there is also a tendency towards higher temperatures than usual.
