ANMAT Revokes Licenses of Over 50 Pharmacies

Buenos Aires, January 20 (NA) – The National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) ordered the revocation of the authorization of more than 50 pharmacies nationwide after it was confirmed that all of them had an expired Certificate of Good Practices for the Distribution of Medicines.

Some time ago, the Technical Information Management Directorate initiated proceedings within the framework of the registration of pharmacies authorized to carry out interjurisdictional transit of medicines and medical specialties whose certificates had expired.

Official Bulletin Resolution 72/2026 explains that each establishment has a validity period of five years from its issuance, and upon expiration of that period, it must request its renewal with a minimum period of sixty business days prior to its effective expiration date, which allows the respective activity to continue until the said procedure is resolved.

However, as learned by the Argentine News Agency, it was found that 54 pharmacies had an expired Certificate of Compliance with Good Practices for the Distribution of Medicines, and they also did not file the renewal process.

In light of this situation, Luis Eduardo Fontana, director of ANMAT, ordered the revocation of the authorization of:

DROGUERÍA JAVA DE BIOSEGURIDAD ARGENTINA S.A. (Province of Buenos Aires) DROGUERÍA URBANA S.A. (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires) DROGUERÍA MULTIMED S.R.L.
