At least three fire spots have reactivated in Los Alerces National Park in Chubut, Argentina, where the fire has been raging for over a month and a half, affecting more than 35,000 hectares of native forests, shrubs, and plantations. Authorities detailed that the reactivation is due to strong winds and high temperatures. While the work of over 500 brigadists, firefighters, and support teams continues, the fire shows no sign of abating. In recent hours, it was confirmed that three fire spots reignited in Puerto Café, within Los Alerces National Park, after the National Parks Administration (APN) intervened for the first time to regulate its operational, institutional, and administrative functions following the fire emergency. The provincial Vialidad department reported that Provincial Route No. 71, from RN40 to Cholila, 'is closed to all types of traffic until further notice due to the forest fire affecting the area.' In the face of this situation, authorities are asking the public to respect the instructions of local officials. The National Meteorological Service (SMN) forecasts a high of 21 degrees and some isolated rains for this Monday, while Tuesday will be similar, with wind gusts reaching 70 km/h in the afternoon. Only on Thursday and Friday, at the end of the week, is there an alert for a temperature increase with highs around 31 and 32 degrees.
