Buenos Aires, Dec 18 (NA) -- A nine-year-old girl who reported being sexually abused at a primary school in the Mendoza municipality of Guaymallén testified in a courtroom setting known as Cámara Gesell and participated in an identification lineup, although the perpetrator has not yet been found. According to the official statement accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the investigation is led by Prosecutor María Moya, part of the Unit for Crimes against Sexual Integrity. It is presumed that the perpetrator was an external worker, not a staff member of the Abraham Lemos school in Los Corralitos. The investigation began after a complaint was filed on November 17 by the minor's mother, who stated that her daughter detailed an abuse committed by a construction worker hired by a subcontracted company. Consequently, the prosecutor's office identified individuals who performed masonry and plumbing at the institution the minor attended during the period the alleged incident took place. They ordered an inspection of the school, attended by prosecutors, forensic police, and the investigative unit. Based on the girl's testimony in Cámara Gesell, and with the consent of her mother and her legal advisor, the identification lineup was conducted, which ultimately yielded negative results. Previously, the girl underwent physical and psychological examinations. Although an internal injury was found during the medical examination, it was ruled out that, on its own, it constituted conclusive proof of sexual abuse. Nevertheless, the educational institution has suspended the maintenance and construction works. #AgenciaNA
