During the early hours of Sunday, a shocking multiple collision occurred on General Paz Avenue in Buenos Aires. The incident involved four vehicles: a Volkswagen New Beetle, a Volkswagen Fox, a Honda Civic, and a Fiat 147, all of which were severely damaged, but fortunately, there were no fatalities.
According to reports from the City Police, the accident originated when a gray VW Fox made an improper maneuver and collided with a silver-gray Honda Civic, subsequently causing the collision with the green VW New Beetle. Despite initial reports suggesting the involvement of a fifth vehicle in flight, a witness dismissed these rumors, pointing to the Honda Civic as responsible for the crash.
As a result of the accident, General Paz Avenue had to be completely closed in the direction of Riachuelo, at the height of the DOT shopping center, and towards the Panamericana to Tigre. The emergency service (SAME) had to transport a 23-year-old pregnant woman with whiplash to a hospital, and the driver of the VW Fox with multiple traumas.
Eyewitnesses suggested that some of the vehicles might have been participating in an illegal race, although this information has not been officially confirmed. Both the SAME personnel and firefighters worked at the scene to assist the injured and clear the accident area.
