The cause of the disappearance of Sofía Herrera, the minor who disappeared in a camping site in Tierra del Fuego in 2008, has taken a new turn after the DNA results were revealed and its possible relation to the daughter of Carlos Pérez from the Loan case.
María Elena Delgado, Sofía's mother, shared in an interview with the Argentine News Agency the situation regarding the DNA test: "The result came out last night, I found out because our lawyer, Dr. Francisco Ibarra, called me and told me that the result was negative." Delgado mentioned that she expected this outcome due to the resemblance she observed in the photo of the other girl, highlighting that her intuition was already telling her it was not her daughter.
Sofía's mother expressed her sorrow for the situation and confirmed that the DNA result confirms that the girl related to the Loan case is not her daughter. Despite this news, Delgado assured that they will continue searching for Sofía.
On the other hand, the DNA test was conducted after a person declared having seen Carlos Pérez in Tierra del Fuego in 2008, coinciding with the location and time when Sofía disappeared. The genetic sample was collected in Chaco, where Pérez's daughter resides, and subsequently transferred to Buenos Aires for detailed analysis.
The results of the DNA analysis could be delivered in approximately a month and will be crucial both for the investigation into the case of the girl related to Carlos Pérez and for clarifying the disappearance of Sofía Herrera.
