Maru Botana shared an emotional testimony about a sign she received from her son Facundo, who passed away at six months old due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. "Thank God, I am moved to say that we continue," expressed the cook in a conversation with Catalina Dlugi. She recalled that during her daughter Lucía's birthday, a situation where she was in the kitchen with Facundo's godmother and other people deeply marked her.
"Adriana from Sapo Pepe came to the program and told me to call an event organizer because I was very unwell," Botana shared about an unexpected piece of advice she received while organizing her daughter's party. In the midst of the pain, Maru clung to faith and life, also thinking of the need to move forward for the sake of her other children.
The experience after Facundo's passing strengthened Maru's belief that her son continues to be present in her life. A bright green bird that entered the kitchen and flew out the window was one of the signs she interpreted as her son's presence. Despite the constant spiritual companionship she feels, Botana acknowledged that the pain of losing Facundo will always be present in her heart.
Fifteen days after the tragedy, Maru made the decision to return to work. "You always felt the companionship, it is always there. I won't lie; it always hurts, it will always hurt, and I never understood it," reflected the cook on perseverance amid the absence of her little Facundo.
