The number of employees in the national public administration, companies, and societies decreased by 10% year-on-year in January, according to information from Indec. According to the survey released today, the total staffing of the national public administration (APN) and state entities was 333,384 in January 2024 and was reduced to 299,576 in January of this year, which represents the elimination of 33,808 jobs.
Within this universe, the national public administration concentrated 204,323 positions, while the rest corresponded to companies and state societies (95,253 employees). Most of the reduction occurred in decentralized administration and state-owned companies.
The universe of reporting entities in January 2025 decreased from 134 to 133 as the General Administration of Ports (AGP SAU), a state society dependent on the Ministry of Economy, was dissolved by Decree 3/2025. This decree also created the National Agency of Ports and Navigation (ANPYN) as an autonomous entity operating within the scope of the Ministry of Economy.
At the time of closing this report, its staffing as an independent entity was not available.
