A newborn baby was found inside an abandoned bag in public in Merlo, Buenos Aires province. After an investigation that included security camera analysis and witness testimonies, the baby's mother was arrested for child abandonment. According to police sources, the male infant was found with the umbilical cord and vital signs, and was urgently taken to a local hospital where he is in stable condition. The mother, a 32-year-old woman, gave birth at home before abandoning the baby in public. The case has been classified as 'abandonment of person'.
