President Javier Milei presented the San Jorge mining project today and asked for its approval in the Mendoza Legislature, stating it is an "enorme opportunity" for the Cuyo province.
Through his social media, the head of state emphasized his support for the PSJ Cobre Mendocino project, which will be discussed tomorrow in the Mendoza Legislature to grant or not its final sanction, according to the Argentine News Agency.
The project brings an investment of US$600 million to put into production a mine of 40,000 tons per year of copper concentrate, as detailed by Milei.
In the same vein, and "to no one's surprise", the Head of State attacked Kirchnerism for not accompanying the project. "Following the line of the last 25 years, always being against the private sector, investment, progress, and work".
The Assembly for the Water of Uspallata initiated the "Liberating Struggle for the Water", a caravan on foot heading towards the provincial capital. The objective of the mobilization is to express to the Mendoza Senate to reject the Environmental Impact Statement (DIA) of the copper and gold project.
"Our full support for the province and all those who want a freer and more prosperous Argentina, as we have been promoting for over a year with the sanction of the May Pact. At the end, he closed with his characteristic message: "Long live freedom, damn it!"
