Fugitive in Landi Murder Case Turns Himself In

Buenos Aires, Jan 9 (NA) – A fugitive in the case of Cynthia Landi's murder, the woman who was killed after being caught in the crossfire outside a nightclub in Mendoza and for which three police officers are detained, has turned himself in and is now part of the list of accused behind bars. According to the prosecutor's report accessed by the Argentine News Agency, this Friday morning Lautaro Stagnoli, who worked as a bus driver, voluntarily presented himself at the local police station. Stagnoli had an active arrest warrant against him for his participation in the incident where Landi was killed during a shootout due to a conflict with parking lot attendants and staff from the Queen Disco nightclub in Guaymallén. The investigation reveals that 'trapitos' (informal parking lot attendants) and a group of men began to fight after refusing to pay for vehicle parking. When the fight escalated in violence, the parking attendants took refuge in the victim's home, and minutes later, a white Volkswagen Gol Trend car carrying the main figures in the dispute passed by the house and fired five shots, one of which hit the woman in the armpit. In the case, three provincial police officers—one man and two women—are already detained, charged with aggravated homicide by the use of a firearm as co-perpetrators.
