A busy morning is unfolding this Monday in the vicinity of the Judicial Complex, where Ricardo Babillón, head of the Judicial Workers' union, appeared after being summoned by Traffic Prosecutor Fernando Giunta. Shortly after arriving at the Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) building, Babillón was charged with "obstructing public transport" due to a recent union action, as part of the protests that the sector has been leading in the province. "We have no doubts: this summons is not an isolated incident. It is another attempt at union persecution and political discipline against an organization that does not remain silent, that denounces precariousness, that demands real collective bargaining and the fulfillment of signed agreements," the union group stated. "If they touch one of us, they touch all of us," they warned in the same statement, which was also supported by other unions that, as on previous occasions, have accompanied Babillón and his team in various demands. "We will not allow the judicial system to be used to intimidate those who fight. We will not leave our leaders or any colleague alone," they added. "When a government uses the justice system to punish union organization, what is at risk is not just a leader, but the right to defend decent working conditions," reads another passage of the text.
