The vice president of Generación Zoe, Maximiliano Batista, testified in the oral trial in which Leonardo Cositorto and five other defendants are accused of an alleged pyramid scheme against 98 people in Corrientes. The hearing took place on Monday afternoon and lasted until nearly 10:00 PM.
Starting this week, with the aim of speeding up the process and reaching a verdict by mid-December, it was decided that hearings will take place both in the morning and in the afternoon. José Codazzi, a known lawyer in the Loan case, joined the team defending Cositorto.
According to Cositorto's lawyer, Guillermo Dragotto, it was decided to include Codazzi due to the need for someone to be present at the numerous hearings that will take place. Dragotto mentioned that Codazzi will be present in the sessions while he will follow them remotely.
In his testimony, Maximiliano Batista stated that Generación Zoe is a legitimate company and that the ventures in question were real. He explained that money was generated through trading, and the businesses projected profits that supported the established agreements.
Additionally, Batista mentioned the existence of a legally backed trust. During the hearing, the jurisdiction of the trial was also questioned, arguing that the Court did not resolve the issue of competence and that the current judges are not suitable to carry out the process.
Another defendant, Miguel Ángel Echegaray, also testified in the trial. Batista, being Cositorto's number two and sharing a lawyer with him, presented his testimony this Tuesday, on a significant day for the development of the case.
