Man Arrested in Argentina on Child Exploitation Charges

A man in the Argentine city of Goya has been arrested on charges of sexual abuse and child exploitation. The arrest was made as part of an investigation into vehicle document forgery. During the investigation, electronic devices and material of interest to the case were seized. According to information provided by the Fiscales portal, the arrest was carried out on November 14 by personnel from the Federal Police (PFA) at a residence, following a request from the prosecution and an order from Federal Judge Cristina Pozzer Penzo. The investigation revealed that the accused had been sexually abusing and exploiting children and adolescents since at least 2017. Prosecutor Mariano de Guzmán charged him with human trafficking for the recruitment, reception, or hosting of at least five victims for sexual exploitation, identified from analyzed images. Upon analyzing his computer and a hard drive, police found images and videos of children whom he abused and filmed. Authorities identified at least 21 victims, all minors, at the time the recordings were made. By cross-referencing various databases, the PFA identified seven of the victims. A search warrant was then issued for his home, and he was arrested. It is expected that Judge Penzo will take his statement on Tuesday.
