Leonardo Nelson Cositorto, leader of Generación Zoe, along with five other defendants, was found guilty of forming an illegal association in the context of a judicial case in Corrientes. During the closing arguments of the process, the Prosecutor's Office led by Rubén Barry and María Eugenia Ballará presented a significant amount of evidence that led to defining the case.
In this regard, prosecutor Barry stated: "It has been proven that Leonardo Nelson Cositorto, as the leader of the organization, and the other five defendants formed an illegal association." Pablo Fleitas, the plaintiff's lawyer, mentioned that Cositorto and the group would be summoned for questioning next week.
The hearing had heated moments, with Cositorto shouting, resulting in his subsequent expulsion. The sentencing hearing is expected soon, where the penalty will be determined, which could range from five to ten years in prison for the crimes of ongoing fraud and illegal association.
In addition to Cositorto, Miguel Ángel Echegaray, Maximiliano Javier Batista, and Lucas Damián Camelino were found guilty, while Nicolás Ismael Medina and Javier Sebastián Medina were acquitted. It is anticipated that the accused will face legal proceedings in several Argentine provinces, including Córdoba, Santa Fe, Salta, and Buenos Aires.
