The verdict against Leonardo Cositorto and five other defendants in the province of Corrientes for the alleged mega scam of Generación Zoe will be announced tomorrow at the Goya Court. Following the conclusion of the hearing phase, where the plaintiffs and the Prosecutor's Office requested to find them guilty of the crimes of illicit association and fraud, the verdict will be revealed this Friday at 8:30 AM.
Before the reading of the guilt and sentence, Cositorto, Miguel Ángel Echegaray, Maximiliano Javier Batista, Lucas Damián Camelino, Nicolás Ismael Medina, and Javier Sebastián Medina will be able to say their last words before the court. After what the accused express, their criminal responsibility will be resolved through a verdict of innocence or guilt.
At the beginning of the debate, Cositorto attempted to reach a financial agreement with more than 98 victims, but the prosecutors did not accept the deal despite the negotiations progressing well. This is the first trial faced by the leader of the organization, as he has other judicial processes in various provinces and cities of Argentina.
Amid delays due to the progress of other processes, two of the accused who were imprisoned in Córdoba were released, Norman Próspero and Silvana Abelloni, because the maximum period of preventive detention, which is three years according to the Penal Code, expired. Since there is no start date for the trial, it was ordered that both wait for the debate to start from their homes.
