The organizers of the alleged pyramid scheme in the Goya city office carefully planned their strategy to deceive investors, authorities stated. Under the guise of a financial coaching academy and an educational company, Cositorto and Batista managed to attract their victims. Both the prosecution and the plaintiff, led by Pablo Fleitas, are convinced of the defendants' guilt, requesting that they be held accountable for illicit association and ongoing fraud.
In their arguments, the defense of Camelino and Echegaray pointed out that their clients were only part of one of the two legally established parent companies, denying the existence of an illicit association. The defender sought the acquittal of both defendants, stating that the organizations operated within the law.
The verdict of the case will be delivered by the Goya Tribunal, composed of judges Ricardo Carbajal, Jorge Carbone, and Julio Duarte, this Friday, following a hearing that took a recess until 5 PM on Wednesday. Both the prosecution and the plaintiff have requested that criminal liability be declared for Leonardo Cositorto and five other defendants, arguing that their involvement in an illicit association has been demonstrated, based on testimonies from victims and evidence presented during the trial.
