Cositorto Found Guilty of Fraud in Goya

Leonardo Cositorto, leader of Generación Zoe, was found guilty of fraud and illicit association by the Goya Court, Corrientes. The sentence was issued after almost four months of trial.

Before issuing the guilty verdict, the president of the Court, Ricardo Carbajal, presented the proven facts during the process. The trips and dates were mentioned when the organization was established in Goya, as well as the scheme used to demonstrate the existence of the organization.

"It is documented that they settled in the town of Goya and that from the beginning there was the illicit association and intent for fraud," declared Carbajal. The argument highlighted the use of media screens, communication channels, and the display of luxury travel as part of the deception strategy.

In the same hearing, Miguel Ángel Echegaray, Maximiliano Javier Batista, and Lucas Damián Camelin were also declared guilty, while Nicolás Ismael Medina and Javier Sebastián Medina were acquitted. The accused will face processes in the provinces of Córdoba, Santa Fe, Salta, and Buenos Aires.

It is expected that next week Leonardo Cositorto and the rest of the group will be summoned for questioning. It is anticipated that in a future hearing, the sentence will be determined, which, in Cositorto's case, implies a minimum of five years in prison for ongoing fraud and illicit association.
