Agents of the Federal Investigations Department (DFI) of the Argentine Federal Police (PFA) rescued a woman, allegedly a victim of human trafficking for labor exploitation, in the city of Villa María, Córdoba. They also arrested the perpetrator of the crime. The suspect, a 21-year-old Argentine, was arrested and transferred to the Penitentiary Service No. 5 in Villa María, remaining at the disposal of the Justice system awaiting the corresponding legal proceedings. The investigation began after a complaint was filed by the victim's sister, who stated that her sister, from the province of Entre Ríos and with mental health problems, had been deprived of her liberty. In this way, officers from the Federal Operational Unit (DUOF) Villa María of the PFA carried out various investigative tasks to locate the woman. The authorities confirmed that the victim had tried to contact her family through a telephone line she used in secret from her captor, warning them about her situation. Through geolocation, it was established that the young woman, 22 years old, was in a small town in the south of the province, Saturnino Laspiur, located 40 kilometers from San Francisco. After intensive search tasks, a field was located where officers found a National Identity Document (DNI) and a vehicle purchase and sale bill in the name of the suspect, a backpack with various clothing items, a set of women's cosmetics, and two debit cards in the name of the victim. Once the arrest was made, the Villa María Federal Prosecutor's Office ordered that the young woman, as a victim, be protected and assisted by specialized personnel, arranging her transfer to the Women's Pole, in the city of Córdoba.
