Two activists detained for cleaning up the neighborhood

On Wednesday, January 28th, a group of educators and young people from the 'Casa Abierta Silvia Schand' Community Center were cleaning and clearing a landfill on Estanislao del Campo Street, aiming to reclaim a space for sports. During this activity, seven vehicles from the Municipal Guard and the Buenos Aires Police arrived. Although our colleagues, who have been recognized for their community work in the 'Villa Hudson' network for over 10 years, tried to explain the situation, two of them were taken to the 4th Police Station. The arbitrariness of the case is alarming: they were detained for over three hours. By decision of Prosecutor Federico Pagliuca (UFI 2), they were charged with 'Investigation of an offense'. It is outrageous how quickly the Municipal Guard and Police act against those who care for the neighborhood, while in more than 100 illegal land subdivisions run by mafias, not a single person has been prosecuted. We ask Mayor Watson: why doesn't he file criminal complaints against the real estate mafias? Why doesn't Franco Risso send patrol cars to identify the scammers, thugs, and former police officers who profit from the needs of families? WE DEMAND: the immediate dismissal of the criminal case against our colleagues. That Mayor Watson formally denounce the real culprits behind the real estate mafias. Enough of persecuting the organizations that fight for the neighborhood! We share the video from the Angelelli Network, which explains the situation in more detail:
