Milei Condemns Sydney Attack, Links It to Palestine Recognition

In September of this year, Australia recognized the State of Palestine, and today, just 3 months later, the Jewish community suffers another massacre. The President of the Nation, Javier G. Milei, expresses his condolences to the victims' families and reaffirms his commitment to the protection of the Jewish community, as well as to international cooperation to prevent, combat, and eradicate violence against said community, especially in the Argentine Republic, a country that was a direct victim of Islamist terrorism and its visceral antisemitism. "In August, the Prime Minister of Israel warned his Australian counterpart in writing that a violent antisemitic attack could occur in his country if the Australian government recognized the State of Palestine," the statement said. "The Office of the President strongly condemns the attack by Islamist terrorists against the Jewish community in Sydney, Australia, which left a trail of fatal victims and numerous injured," the statement said. "This act of violence, directed at Jewish families gathered to celebrate the Hanukkah festival, demonstrates a contempt for life and a desire for destruction by a group of intolerant people whose only goal is the end of humanity as we know it and the imposition of a new theocratic system of repression of freedoms, including freedom of worship."
