The Argentine government has launched the "Federal Program for the Protection of Childhood and Adolescence." The program's objective is to protect and promote the full development of children and adolescents in the Argentine Republic through comprehensive and coordinated strategies across all levels of government. To this end, it strengthens the Provincial Organs for Childhood (OPN) and intersectoral cooperation to provide timely, sustainable, and quality responses to the needs and challenges faced by children and adolescents. The program was established by the National Secretariat of Childhood, Adolescence, and Family, led by Juan Bautista Ordoñez. The Secretariat considers it a priority to have a Federal Program that promotes effective protection against violence, abuse, and mistreatment, as well as other issues affecting children and adolescents, and that fosters their development in safe family environments. The program's central objectives include: strengthening information management, improving institutional and operational quality, implementing monitoring and evaluation capabilities, and promoting intersectoral articulation among actors in the Comprehensive Protection System.
