The head of the La Libertad Avanza (LLA) bloc in the Senate, Ezequiel Atauche, expressed his outrage after the rejection of the Clean Slate law project, which did not receive the necessary votes for approval. Atauche stated that this event demonstrates that the political "caste" is still maintained and called on the Argentine citizenry to change the way they vote.
In an interview with Radio Rivadavia AM 630, Atauche criticized the pressure received by the ruling party to enable the treatment of the project, mentioning that they were left alone at the time of the voting. He emphasized that the Clean Slate law had been worked on for months and that the outcome of the voting was influenced by a "maneuver" that represents the interests of traditional politics.
Atauche denounced that some legislators who had previously committed to voting in favor of the project suddenly changed their stance, which he considers a sign of a lack of commitment and transparency in the political sphere. He asserted that the rejection of the Clean Slate law will not stop his fight for greater transparency in Argentine politics and pointed out the need to continue working to eliminate the "caste" from the country's political system.
