Former president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner commented on the relationship that, according to her, exists between the Vialidad case, for which she was convicted, and the upcoming legislative elections. In a post on her personal social media, the former leader confirmed that she 'recused' the Supreme Court judge, Ricardo Lorenzetti. In the message, she explained: 'His public statements last Thursday, May 1, on América 24, only serve to confirm the veiled threats made 'off the record' in the Clarín newspaper the day before the vote on the appointment of judge Ariel Lijo in the National Senate.'
Furthermore, Fernández de Kirchner emphasized that it is also public knowledge all the circumstances surrounding Lijo's nomination as the new member of the Court, which did not materialize, and Lorenzetti's role during that process. She recalled that these facts were reported by a National Senator in a public session, and that, far from being denied, Lorenzetti confirmed them almost a month later in an interview with a media outlet.
In this regard, the former president pointed out that the interpretations of third parties confirm the real objective that, according to her, Lorenzetti seeks by recusing her: to keep her out of the imminent electoral process in which the timelines have already begun to run. In her words, 'Proscribing is the verb and the subject is Peronism.'
