The transport company Metropol informed that it will not join the bus strike called by the Union of Automotive Tram Workers (UTA). It confirmed that its lines will operate normally on Tuesday, May 6, amid the collective bargaining conflict between the union and employers. The union, led by Roberto Fernández, ratified a 24-hour strike after rejecting a salary offer and demanding a higher minimum wage.
Metropol will ensure the provision of its services, although it will depend on the presence of non-unionized staff and safety conditions. The list of Metropol lines that will operate that day is specified in the news.
According to the National Transport Secretariat, more than 50% of the bus companies in the AMBA may not join the strike. The compliance with minimum services will be supervised as it involves an essential service.
