On the eve of a new protest by retirees, the main actors in charge of security met at a summit to coordinate the operation that will be deployed on Wednesday in the vicinity of the Congress. The Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, met with the head of the SIDE, Sergio Neiffert, and his deputy, Diego Kravetz, in the office of the presidential advisor, Santiago Caputo, on the first floor of Casa Rosada.
Minutes later, the Secretary of Transportation, Franco Mogetta, and the Deputy Chief of Justice, Sebastián Amerio, joined the exchange, while the presidential spokesman, Manuel Adorni, only accompanied Mogetta to the location. According to sources from Noticias Argentinas, the operation will be similar to last Wednesday's, which involved the assistance of more than a thousand members of the Federal Police, Gendarmerie, Naval Prefecture, and Airport Security Police.
From the ministry led by Bullrich, they avoided specifying details of police action, although they emphasized that the Unified Command will monitor the demonstration. "We will not provide information on the tactical strategy to combat violence," they stated. The idea of the Executive Branch is to strengthen controls at access points and the national routes leading to the Federal Capital to monitor participation.
Despite having reported an "attempted coup d'état" during last Wednesday’s march that gathered retirees and football fans, this time, Casa Rosada rules out the attendance of barras bravas, a factor they attribute to the escalation of violence, although they maintain that it will form "a political march" aimed at "destabilizing". Security will be alert to possible incidents and the information is under development.
