The national government issued a message today from the Casa Rosada on the occasion of International Women's Day, in which strong criticisms were made of gender policies and the management of former president Alberto Fernández. Through a two-minute video, emphasis was placed on state spending aimed at promoting the gender agenda, noting that in 2023, 4 trillion pesos were used for this purpose, surpassing the budget for Defense and Security and being ten times greater than that of the Judiciary.
The video criticized the funding coming from the efforts of the Argentines and questioned the violation of equality before the law according to the national Constitution. It highlighted that between 2020 and 2023, large sums of money were spent on gender-focused policies. It was also pointed out the adoption of the policy of "those who do it pay for it," which, according to the message, has primarily benefited women.
The official party pointed out that past governments fostered the creation of costly bureaucratic structures to protect women, while the present has opted to punish those responsible for crimes. The video mentioned figures from the previous administration, such as the former Minister of Women, Genders, and Diversity Ayelén Mazzina and the former First Lady Fabiola Yáñez, who accused Fernández of gender violence.
At the end of the video, comments from President Javier Milei and Minister of Security Patricia Bullrich were presented, highlighting the reduction of spending on gender policies and the decrease in homicides through the policy of criminal responsibility. Statistics from the Ombudsman's Office were mentioned, showing a 20% decrease in homicides of women in 2024, breaking a previous upward trend. Additionally, the position against "woke" ideology was reaffirmed, which, according to the message, seeks to divide society with lucrative agendas.
In summary, the Government used this message to criticize the gender policies previously implemented and highlight a change in the approach towards criminal responsibility, emphasizing the decrease in homicides of women as an achievement of this new strategy.
