Claudio Adrián De Respinis, leader of the barra brava of the Huracán club, was arrested early Sunday morning at his home in Nueva Pompeya. The arrest occurred during a raid in which a firearm was found. De Respinis, known as "El Cone," faces accusations of coercive threats amid a conflict between factions of the Huracán fans.
The operation was carried out by members of the City Police, including the Division of Crimes Against Health and Safety, the Division of Metropolitan Special Operations (DOEM), and the Division of Urban Operations for Riot Control (DOUCAD). The search warrant was issued by the Criminal, Misdemeanor and Minor Offenses Court No. 25, and was executed on Corrales street No. 1,000, where the firearm and other items were found that led to De Respinis' arrest.
The dispute between factions of the Huracán barra brava involves the De Respinis family, which has controlled the stands for decades, and a dissenting group led by "Gordo Pablo" composed of fans from different neighborhoods. The investigation began following an incident on March 7 in which De Respinis allegedly fired shots without causing injuries, but striking a vehicle.
According to the prosecutor in charge of the investigation, De Respinis allegedly threatened and insulted members of the rival faction due to their exclusion from the stadiums due to an admission rights sanction. Following the incident, bullet impacts were found on a VW Bora vehicle belonging to one of the affected. The leader of the Huracán barra brava now faces charges for the violent actions taken in the context of this faction dispute.
