Supreme Court Rejects Judge Appointment

The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation has rejected, by majority vote, the request for leave submitted by federal judge Ariel Lijo. The decision was made by judges Horacio Rosatti, Carlos Rosenkrantz, and Manuel García-Mansilla, who opposed the possibility of Lijo joining the Court without leaving his position in federal justice.

In minority, magistrate Ricardo Lorenzetti held an opposing stance and proposed to proceed with the appointment of the judge. The discussion on this topic is still ongoing and more updates are expected in this regard.
