Political Tension in Argentina Over Minister Appointments

The Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos, in a radio interview on Rivadavia radio, pointed out that the decree for the appointment of ministers on an interim basis in the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation was issued due to the lack of agreement with the opposition in the Senate, and not because of a lack of votes. This matter will be addressed by the three judges of the Court starting tomorrow, Thursday.

According to sources from the Justice Palace, the issue of the two ministers appointed on an interim basis by President Javier Milei will be discussed next week, without any substantial decision being made until the first week of March. Ariel Lijo and Manuel García-Mansilla are expected to be present at Milei's speech during the opening of the ordinary sessions of Congress this Saturday, as is tradition.

The Federal Chamber of Buenos Aires announced the license granted to federal judge Ariel Lijo around 4 PM on Wednesday, with the signatures of several magistrates. Among them were Mariano Llorens, Roberto Boico, Leopoldo Bruglia, Pablo Bertuzzi, Eduardo Farah, and Martín Irurzun.

Guillermo Francos explained that the next step will be to address the nominations next week, although the stance on the presidential decree has not been revealed so far. The discussion and decision-making on this issue are expected to continue in the first week of March.
