The President's Office reported that Javier Milei did not participate in the development of the cryptocurrency associated with the KIP Protocol project and its publication on social media was a customary gesture of support for ventures. The link with KIP Protocol was established on October 19, 2024, during a meeting between the president and the representatives of the company, Mauricio Novelli and Julian Peh. The President's Office stated that Milei is committed to clarifying the facts related to this project.
The government clarified that Hayden Mark Davis has no connection with the national administration. In addition to involving the Anti-Corruption Office (OA) in the investigation, the president ordered the creation of a Research Task Unit (UTI) within the Presidency. This unit will have representatives from agencies specialized in crypto assets, finance, and money laundering, with the purpose of thoroughly investigating the launch of the cryptocurrency $LIBRA and the parties involved in its creation.
All information obtained in this investigation will be submitted to the judiciary for evaluation in search of possible crimes. The decision to take action came after Milei deleted a post on his social media about the KIP Protocol project due to the negative repercussions caused. Subsequently, on January 30, 2025, Milei received Hayden Mark Davis at the Casa Rosada, introduced by KIP Protocol as the provider of the technological infrastructure of the project.
