Next week, the clean record project will be discussed in the Senate, although its consideration may be delayed until March due to other priority initiatives.

Debate on Clean Record in the Argentine Senate

Next week, the treatment of the Ficha Limpia project will take place in the Senate, as announced by Senator Carlos "Camau" Espínola in a radio interview. The national government has called extraordinary sessions until February 21, but the treatment of Ficha Limpia will have to wait until March, as next week the Senate will focus on other projects.

Among the initiatives to be discussed in the next session are the suspension of the PASO, the trial in absentia, and the reiteration and recidivism, which already have the approval of the lower house. Ficha Limpia, on the other hand, faces a complicated scenario in the upper house, as Kirchnerism, with 34 seats, has a margin of only two votes to block it. The project must first go through committee before being discussed in the chamber.

Espínola indicated that the treatment of Ficha Limpia could be postponed until the start of the regular sessions in Congress. The project was recently approved by the Chamber of Deputies and is now awaiting treatment in the Senate.
