The Ministry of Human Capital criticized the La Fraternidad union, which has called for a national strike next Tuesday, for not accepting the salary agreement reached in the sector's negotiations. Minister Sandra Pettovello pointed out that La Fraternidad called for the work stoppage despite an agreement being reached with several companies and other unions in the railway sector.
In a statement, the ministry explained that both parties failed to reach an agreement due to the La Fraternidad union's rejection of the companies' offers. In light of this situation, the union led by Omar Maturano decided to carry out the strike next Tuesday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, which will affect the transportation of thousands of people.
Javier Milei's administration reiterated its commitment to strengthening social dialogue and improving labor conditions in all sectors. For its part, the La Fraternidad union, which represents train operators, has declared the work stoppage due to salary demands and the alleged lack of response in the negotiations.
