In Argentina, over 150 vaccination leaders have been trained to reduce vaccination gaps. The data is in relation with the same period between 2020 and 2024. Although cases of hantavirus were recorded in most of the country, the largest number occurred in the central region. It is common that, at first, one of the symptoms of hantavirus can be confused with a feverish and flu-like condition, accompanied by muscle pain, headache, and chills. The main route of transmission is the inhalation of viral particles present in environments contaminated by rodent waste. It can also occur through direct contact with infected rodents, alive or dead, or their secretions, and to a lesser extent, through bites. According to information from the Ministry of Health of the Nation, in Argentina, infections have increased by 17% in 2025. Since there is no vaccine for this disease, the inescapable recommendation is to visit a physician or the nearest health service.
