A man riding a bicycle died after being hit by a car on Route 2, near Abasto, on Wednesday night. The tragic incident occurred at kilometer 56 when the driver of a white Fiat Cronos collided with the cyclist, causing his death on the spot.
Minutes after the accident, an AUBASA ambulance arrived at the scene, and the medical staff confirmed the victim's death. The area was secured to carry out the relevant investigations, although official confirmation of the details of the incident is still awaited.
According to local reports, a neighbor present at the scene identified the deceased as Sencillo Roca Ríos. The cause of the accident has been classified as "Involuntary Manslaughter" and is being investigated by the Functional Instruction Unit No. 12 of the Judicial Department of La Plata. Authorities have ordered the transfer of the body for an autopsy and to proceed with the necessary judicial proceedings.
