The staff of the Southern Dangerous Drugs Directorate confirmed the presence of narcotic substances after conducting field tests. Consequently, the Judicial Center's Narcotrafficking Unit ordered the detention of a young man for violating Law No. 23,737 on Narcotics and Drug Trafficking. The operation was supervised by Chief Commissioner Antonio Rolando Díaz.
During a control of family members of inmates at the La Cocha Police Station, security forces detained a 21-year-old individual when he attempted to smuggle drugs for one of the prisoners. In an inspection carried out on Thursday afternoon of a young man visiting his brother-in-law detained for armed robbery, 30 packages of cocaine, a block of marijuana, and 184 psychotropic drugs were found hidden among his belongings.
In the words of the officer in charge of the operation, Antonio Rolando Díaz: "This incident highlights the ongoing fight we maintain against drug trafficking and micro-trafficking in the region."
