Three prisoners started a fire by burning mattresses in the Bouwer prison in Córdoba, resulting in them needing hospitalization due to smoke inhalation. The incident occurred during a protest by recently admitted inmates.
The fire broke out in cell No. 24 of the Diagnostic Operational Center (COD) of the Prison Complex No. 1 'Rdo. Padre Luchesse'. The protest by the inmates ended with the burning of the mattresses, creating chaos at the location. The situation was brought under control when prison staff intervened to extinguish the flames and provide care to those affected, who were then transferred to the Burn Institute for observation.
In a statement to El DoceTv, it is detailed that the inmates involved in the fire did not suffer serious injuries and were discharged after receiving medical attention. Later, upon returning to the prison, the appropriate actions were taken against them by Judicial Unit No. 23.
