The Buenos Aires Province is carrying out comprehensive work on Provincial Route No. 6, a strategic transport corridor connecting the north of the province with Buenos Aires. The project includes repaving, bridge repairs, lighting replacement, and the installation of modern safety signs, which will directly impact the economy and safety of thousands of users.

The province of Buenos Aires continues with works on different road fronts at various points in the territory, and one of them is being carried out comprehensively on Provincial Route No. 6. According to the Argentine News Agency, the work is taking place on the section between the municipalities of Pilar and Campana, one of the most critical sectors of the highway that plays a central role in the productive connectivity of northern Buenos Aires and its link with the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area. Route 6 functions as a strategic ring road that connects national corridors, industrial parks, logistics zones, and port areas, including the environment of the Zárate port and its connection with the City of Buenos Aires, so its improvement directly impacts competitiveness, the regional economy, and the safety of thousands of users. What are the tasks that Vialidad is carrying out on route 6? Among the main actions carried out by the Buenos Aires Provincial Roads Directorate, the repaving of both carriageways in both directions and the structural rehabilitation of the pavements stand out, with the objective of recovering the route's capacity for circulation and extending its service life. In addition, the project also includes the maintenance and upgrading of 16 road bridges and 12 hydraulic bridges, along with the improvement of culverts to ensure proper water drainage and prevent flooding, a key aspect for the safety and durability of the infrastructure. Another central component is the comprehensive renewal of lighting, which includes the replacement of 2,810 light fixtures, the replacement of columns, and the updating of electrical boards, substantially improving nighttime visibility and reducing the risk of accidents. Signage and guardrails for greater safety Likewise, in terms of road safety, horizontal and vertical signage and the placement of vehicle guardrails are being installed along the entire intervened stretch, reinforcing user protection and organizing traffic flow. The project also plans to contract services for: Medical assistance. Sanitary transport. Mechanical assistance and towing. The tasks will allow completing the stretch between Campana, Exaltación de la Cruz, and Pilar, as well as optimizing the crossing of Route 6 with National Route No. 9, a key point for cargo and passenger traffic.
