To improve road safety and support tourism, the San Juan provincial road service will launch a plan in 2026 for repavement and signage. The first works will begin in February on key provincial roads, including the circumvallation and accesses to National Route 40.

With the aim of strengthening road safety, improving connectivity, and supporting the tourist and productive development of the province, the provincial Vialidad will launch a strategic plan for repavement and signage in 2026, with the first works beginning in February. San Juan authorities confirmed that key works on provincial routes are already in the bidding process. They include the application of asphalt concrete for repavement and an integral scheme of horizontal painting and vertical signage, essential for organizing traffic and reducing risks on the roads. According to the Argentine News Agency, interventions will be focused exclusively on provincial roads, aiming to recover deteriorated sections due to the passage of time and intensive use. In this sense, the work will be carried out on: Avenida de Circunvalación, North and South accesses to National Route 40, and National Route 20 towards the East sector.
