A one-year-old baby died on Thursday after being trapped inside a vehicle in which his parents, both minors, were also traveling, in the small Río Negro town of Chimpay, located in Alto Valle. The accident occurred at the intersection of 9 de Julio Norte and Los Claveles, within the urban area, when, for reasons unknown, the teenager driving a Renault Sandero lost control and ended up semi-submerged in an irrigation channel. The baby's father, 17, and his 16-year-old mother were inside the car; they managed to escape but could not save the child. Later, when rescue teams arrived, the child had already died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident, according to Noticias Argentinas. Meanwhile, as part of the protocol, a blood sample was taken from the young driver at the local hospital.
