A tragic traffic accident occurred on Sunday at the intersection of Route 6 and Route 215, near Olmos, when a 68-year-old man died after his vehicle overturned. At the time of the accident, he was traveling with his wife, who was serving him mate. According to police sources, a white Renault Duster with license plate AD833HR, heading towards the Atlantic Coast, overturned. As a result of the crash, Rogelio Omar Medina, a 68-year-old married man and a retiree from the Buenos Aires Penitentiary Service, residing in Monte Grande, died. Experts and the morgue service were requested for the case file. The case was filed as “Death by accident” and is in the hands of UFI No. 14 of La Plata Judicial Department, led by Ana Scarpino. His wife, Graciela Altamirano, also 65 and a retiree, managed to exit the vehicle on her own and was assisted on site without the need for transfer to a health center. According to the woman's testimony, the couple was traveling from Monte Grande to the Atlantic Coast when, while she was offering her husband mate, the driver lost control of the vehicle, skidded, and rolled over. At the scene, firefighters from Abasto and a zonal UPA ambulance worked; the doctor in charge confirmed Medina's death.
