The National Network of Sons and Daughters for Identity and Justice against Forgetting and Silence (H.I.J.O.S) has launched a campaign to find the grandchildren of Héctor Germán Oesterheld, creator of the original work of 'El Eternauta', recently adapted into a Netflix series. During the civic-military dictatorship in Argentina, Oesterheld's four daughters and Elsa Sánchez were kidnapped, two of them pregnant at the time.
Diana and Marina Oesterheld remain missing, along with their children. H.I.J.O.S has spread a message aimed at possible grandchildren born in November 1976 or between November 1977 and January 1978, encouraging them to contact Abuelas Difusión if they have doubts about their identity or that of someone they know from those dates. The organization continues in the search for the lost sons and daughters of the disappeared.
The campaign seeks to utilize the popularity of the series 'El Eternauta' on Netflix to keep this cause present on the public agenda. H.I.J.O.S has made a call for audience collaboration with the message: 'Are you watching El Eternauta? Help us find them.' The organization aims to rekindle the search for the disappeared descendants, maintaining the hope of reuniting these families separated by the crimes against humanity that occurred in the past.
