Major Sinkholes Disrupt Traffic in Córdoba

In the early hours of this Thursday, a large sinkhole caused the collapse of provincial route 10 in the province of Córdoba, specifically at kilometer 90 between Matorrales and Villa del Rosario. The hole was as wide as the asphalt, prompting police intervention to close the road and prevent accidents. Due to this incident, residents in the area were unable to reach their workplaces, with some being isolated due to the disruption in traffic.

The situation worsened due to the heavy rains affecting the region, with 150 millimeters of precipitation contributing to the road's collapse. This was not the only case of sinking, as another large sinkhole was reported in the city of Santa Fe on Galves Boulevard, specifically at the intersection with Vélez Sarsfield Street. This incident affected vehicle circulation in the area, causing complications for pedestrians.

In the words of an eyewitness in Córdoba: "It was impressive to see how the road disappeared before our eyes. The magnitude of the sinkhole was shocking, and the swift intervention of the authorities prevented any tragedy from occurring." These situations highlight the vulnerability of road infrastructures to extreme natural phenomena and the importance of having preventive measures and emergency plans to face these unexpected events.
