Eduardo Sacheri Denies Rumors of His Death

The renowned Argentine writer Eduardo Sacheri recently denied rumors about his alleged death that circulated on social media and gained traction following a false statement from his publisher. Sacheri, born in Castelar in 1967, is known for works such as "The Question in Their Eyes" and "The Night of the Usina", the latter awarded the Alfaguara Prize for Novel in 2016.

Also the author of "Papers in the Wind" and "The Odyssey of the Fool", both successfully adapted to film, Sacheri has established himself as one of the most relevant contemporary writers in Argentina. His most recent work, "Us Two in the Storm" (2023), tells a story set in the years leading up to the last Argentine military dictatorship, consolidating his status as a literary reference both nationally and internationally.

Speculations about his death arose on social media and were fueled by a false statement from his publisher, Alfaguara. In response, the writer took to Twitter to clarify the situation: "Hello everyone! I feel a bit silly announcing that 'I’m still alive' but I prefer that to the misunderstanding. I just found out that an idiot on this network is saying that I've just passed away."

In addition to his work as a novelist, Sacheri has contributed to writing film scripts, being recognized for his work in "The Secret in Their Eyes", a film that won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2010. The career and relevance of the prominent Argentine author Eduardo Sacheri remain strong, thus dispelling the false rumors that tried to overshadow his literary legacy.
