Buenos Aires sends aid to fight fires in Chubut

The government of the province of Buenos Aires has decided to provide immediate assistance to combat the forest fires affecting the country's southern regions. This measure responds to a request from the Federal Emergency Agency (AFE) and is part of the Federal Fire Management System. Governor Axel Kicillof ordered the deployment of human and logistical resources to assist in the emergency.

The task force consists of 40 qualified fighters trained in forest fire combat. The team includes chainsaw and water pump specialists, as well as tactical personnel. All members are certified and equipped to operate in complex and hard-to-reach terrains. To support the operation, a specialized fleet of vehicles has been mobilized.

A total of 17 adapted vehicles were sent, including 14 pickup trucks for rapid transport and logistics, and a heavy-duty 4x4 fire truck. Additionally, two UTVs with forestry kits were deployed, which are essential for accessing the so-called 'red zones' where conventional vehicles cannot reach.

The contingent's priority is to fight the fire in the Puerto Patriada and Laguna Villarino areas, where fire behavior is extreme. The official report highlights that this collaboration serves as an example of solidarity and professionalism in the face of the climate emergency affecting the Patagonian region.
