Chubut Fires: Road Closed and Rain Expected

The fires in Chubut continue unabated, with over 40,000 hectares burned. Authorities have reported that Provincial Route No. 71 is closed until further notice. Amid the unfavorable scenario, several days of rain are expected in the area, which would help extinguish the hotspots. Through a statement from the Undersecretariat of Citizen Protection, it was announced that Provincial Route No. 71, on the Cholila – Empalme con RN40 stretch, is closed until further notice. In turn, they requested to travel on Provincial Route No. 15 (Cholila - Leleque) with caution. One point that could ease the work of the firefighters is the arrival of more help from other provinces. In this case, it is about 50 specialists from Buenos Aires and 60 from Córdoba, according to the Argentine News Agency. Regarding the weather, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) indicates in its daily report that rain is expected for this Monday and Tuesday, but there will also be wind. This forecast will be accompanied by a drop in temperature, with highs not exceeding 20 degrees.
