YPF has become the main oil exporting company in Argentina due to the acceleration in the development of Vaca Muerta, the start of transportation infrastructure works, and the consolidation of sales to Chile. Since June 2024, the company leads the ranking of crude oil shipments abroad, with Chile as its main export destination, thanks to the reactivation of the Trasandino Pipeline after 17 years out of service.
YPF's sales to Chile are mainly composed of Vaca Muerta crude, where the company increased its net production by 36% year-on-year in the third quarter. In addition to Chile, oil from the Austral Basin is exported to destinations such as the United States and the Netherlands, mainly through maritime transport. This year, YPF is carrying out one of the most important drilling campaigns in its history in the oil window to increase production in the Neuquén Basin.
Regarding the presented results, Medanito oil exports significantly increased in the third quarter, reaching an average of 40,000 barrels per day, representing a growth of 37% compared to the previous quarter and 111% compared to the earlier period. The volume exported by YPF accounts for 15% of the company's total production and has generated revenues of 200 million dollars in the same period.
These achievements are part of YPF's 4x4 plan, which aims to position the company as a crude oil exporter through strategic projects such as the Vaca Muerta North and South pipelines.
