Fuel sales in Argentina reached 16.9 million m³ in 2025, marking the third-highest volume since the pandemic. Sales peaked in July, with premium fuels showing the strongest growth. The Surtidores report also highlights regional demand variations.

Fuel sales in Argentina closed 2025 as the third-best year since the pandemic, with a 0.27% increase compared to 2024, totaling 16,909,725.52 m³, according to the specialized portal Surtidores. Since the pandemic year, 2025 ranks as the third-highest consumption year, behind 2022 (+6.84%) and 2023 (+8.65%). Sales peaked in mid-year, with July seeing the highest volume at 1,462,231 m³. In contrast, February was the month with the lowest demand, at 1,321,607 m³. On a year-over-year basis, April marked the highest fuel sales growth at 5.37%, while November recorded the steepest decline at 6.51%. After contracting in November, the final month of the year ended with a positive sales variation of 0.54% compared to December 2024, reaching 1,503,859 m³. Monthly demand increased by 5.74% compared to November. Premium fuel consumption again took the lead, growing by 9.49% year-over-year. Of the 24 jurisdictions, only nine reported positive year-over-year variations: Catamarca (+7.17%), Río Negro (+4.63%), and Buenos Aires (+3.93%). Misiones (-5.9%), Corrientes (-5.61%), and Santiago del Estero (-5.12%) led the ranking of the largest declines. In terms of volume sold, the province of Buenos Aires topped the list with 544,732 m³, followed by Córdoba (155,875 m³) and Santa Fe (115,600 m³). YPF (+4.38%), Gulf (+3.47%), and Axion Energy (+2.9%) reported sales growth in the last month of the year compared to 2024. By product, gasoline sales grew by 3.81% year-over-year, while diesel fuel fell by 3.9% compared to 2024. “The analysis by product type again shows the best performance for premium fuels, a trend that has been consolidated since mid-last year,” Surtidores stated.
